  • Storybook Cove is an independently owned Children's Bookstore that was founded by Janet Bibeau (a former teacher and school librarian) in Hanover, Massachusetts (south of Boston) in 1990. Our goal has always been to provide quality books and book related toys and gifts to children and to those who love and care for them -- parents, teachers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends. In our "bricks-and-mortar" store, we strive to provide friendly, knowledgeable service by helping customers pick just the right book for the young reader in their lives.

  • We offer an in-store "Book Club Card/Preferred Customer Program" -- for every 10 books (or book related items) you purchase, you receive the average of the amount you have spent as a credit in the store.

  • We also provide a Calendar of fun programs for children which encourage them to read.

  • We feature many non-fiction books and other items of interest to teachers. We also offer a Teacher Discount on all book purchases.

  • While you may order books from us through this page 24/7 (hours/days), we WELCOME and ENCOURAGE those of you in the area (permanently or just visiting) to follow the Directions and come in during our store hours.

  • In addition to quality children's books, we sell "MORE" including many specialty toys and games. See our "& MORE" box to the left for links to some featured items. In our Doll Boutique we have clothes, accessories and furniture for popular 18 inch girl dolls and 15 inch baby dolls such as the American Girl dolls and Gotz dolls (we are not affiliated with any doll company). While the "& More" and Doll Boutique items are not available for order through this web site, we have a wide selection in the store and welcome e-mail and telephone call inquiries.

ABA Responds to Amazon App Promo

“We’re not shocked, just disappointed.. . . We suppose we should be flattered that an online sales behemoth needs a Main Street retail showroom. . .Forgive us if we’re not. . . In the meantime, indie retailers remain the heart of countless communities — offering discovery, energy, support, and unique experiences.”
