Children’s Book Week is the annual celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading.
Established in 1919, Children’s Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Every year, events are held nationwide at schools, libraries, bookstores, homes — wherever young readers and books connect! In 2021 there was a week of activities in May and there is now a second week . . .
The SECOND WEEK of the 2021 Children’s Book Week will take place NOVEMBER 8-14. Children’s Book Week is not only a celebration of books, but of connection. It is a vehicle to unite kids and adults with books, authors, and illustrators in order to foster a love of reading in all.

What are the Kids’ Book Choice Awards and how can young readers voice their choice?
The Kids’ Book Choice Awards (previously the Children’s & Teen Choice Book Awards) are the only national book awards voted on solely by kids and teens. Launched in 2008 by the CHILDREN'S BOOK COUNCIL and Every Child a Reader, the awards provide young readers with an opportunity to voice their opinions about the books being written for them. Each year a slogan is created to shape materials and celebration ideas,
and a beloved artist is chosen to exemplify that slogan. The 2021 slogan is
