This is a story of a young boy growing up in Charlestown, Massachusetts and the surrounding towns. It started as a way for Bridget to capture my father's stories and pass them down from generation to generation, but it became even more than that. Revisiting memory lane became an inner struggle for my Dad where he had to face conflicts with my Grandfather's drinking. He shares many adventures, jokes, disappointments, and moments of strength, as he comes of age in the city. There is a raw emotion that the reader will see as my father faces this vulnerable journey. He connects with older teens and adults of all ages, even though the story is mostly set in the 1930's to 1940's. His storytelling will interest many generations and is a good lesson for all to tell their own stories, good and bad, and of course... always throw in a joke or two.
