ALL ABOUT WISH LISTS . . .
Did you know you can create a wish list of books on our website? YES, it’s true. You can use a wish list as
- a list to jog your memory when it’s time to buy a new book or someone has given you a gift certificateas
- a "hint" to your significant other to assist in their gift giving
- a supplement to your Subscription Box questionnaire
- a place to put your children's birthday or holiday wishes
- a gift registry for a birthday party, wedding, baby shower or some other celebration
- a way to organize a book drive for your school or local library
Your wish list can be emailed -- great if the list is a gift registry or a book drive or a "Santa" or child's birthday wish list or a Subscription Box Questionnaire supplement.
You can also now create multiple wish lists: if you are a parent/grandparent/aunt/uncle, one for each child, grandchild, niece/nephew; or if you're a school librarian building libraries one for each range of ages or grades; or if you are a bookworm who likes to keep your reading and gifting organized, several wish lists can help you keep everything straight.
Here’s how to set one up.
Start by clicking on “My Account” in the top menu bar even if you don’t have an account with us yet.
Next, login with or create a STORYBOOK COVE account.
Then use the search box to find each book you’d like to add to your list. When you see the book in your search results (see exapmple below), you’ll be given two choices( (two buttons) to the right of the book information. Click on “Add to Wish List.”
You’ll then be brought to your wish list. Add a name and give the list a title:
Give the list an expiration date if necessary (the default is a year from today’s date), and choose whether to hide the expiration date and to make the list private so that only people you give the link to can actually see your list.
Add any notes as further description or explanation of your list.
Click on “Save Settings”
The book is there and ready to be wished (or begged) for. Once you’ve set up your list, you won’t have to go through this step again. Just click on “Add to Wish list” and you’ll be taken to your updated list.
Once you’ve created a list, you can change the expiration date (after the ;holidays, party, wedding, shower, etc) or not. You can re-name it or put a different name on it. You can also remove items from it (assuming your wishing/begging has worked) or change the quantity you want of each book. You can now, even upload books in bulk to your list so you don't have to go clicking around the site. Just copy and paste ISBNs to the list shown below and click save.
To email your list simply click on “Email Wish List.” You can send it to up to 10 email addresses at once, give it a custom subject and include a message. There will be a link to the list at the bottom of the email. When someone buys a book from the list, the “Add to Cart” button in the book’s listing will be replaced with “Fulfilled.” If you were asking for say, ten copies of To Kill a Mockingbird, for you school, and one person buys one copy, the “Wanted” number will change to “9” and the “Have” number will change to “1” until all ten have been purchased. If you realize you actually need more copies than you originally asked for you, you can change that as well.
